Our country to realize the automation of power grid and modernization we must implement the intelligent of the power grid, and the transformer substation is the most important part of the power grid, in order to make the grid work efficiency greatly improved to meet the demand of large population in our country,in recent years,continuously strengthen the construction of intelligent substation in our country.Intelligent substation is the use of advanced, reliable, integrated and intelligent equipment of environmental protection, with total station information digitalization and network communication platform, information sharing standard into the basic requirements,automatic information collection, measurement, control, protection, measuring and testing the basic function such as, at the same time, an automatic control, intelligent support grid real-time adjustment, higher functions such as online analytical decision making and collaborative interaction of substation. Intelligent substation system is divided into three layers: process layer, interval layer and station control layer. Process layer contains a device and the differences between the characteristic of the conventional substation intelligent components (merging units,intelligent terminal),complete substation electricity distribution,conversion, transmission and its related functions such as measuring, protection. Spacer layer equipment generally refers to relay protection device, measurement and control device, the secondary equipment such as fault wave record, implementation process using the data and to act at the interval of the function of the device at a time. The station control layer contains subsystems such as automation system, station domain control system, communication system, and time system.At present our country has built hundreds of intelligent substation, but on the technology and experience in China and abroad, there is always a gap both in hardware and software equipment there are some problems,the intelligent substation operation exposed many problems such as maintenance,need to be addressed.This article will start from the composition of intelligent substation, by comparing the conventional substation and intelligent substation composition differences, focusing on intelligent substation characteristic of the two devices: merging unit and intelligent terminal were analyzed, and the list of common intelligent substation fault. Classify the analysis and treatment measures, etc., and draw a preliminary solution, so as to reduce the possible accidents and for the field staff can provide useful basis for fast judgment fault, better promote the development of electric power industry in our country.
