| Nowadays, the ongoing railway freight reform mainly focuses on improving the service and marketing, trying to absorb more customers from various sources through convenient and efficient services and diverse, comprehensive freight marketing products. Applying the ’having stores in front and factories behind’, the unique and original economic model of Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and Macao regions, the reform plans to replace the freight marketing department and the transport organization department by ’front shops’ and ’factories behind’respectively. Specifically, the freight reform this time features in marketing, which means some big improvements will take place in the service level of the ’front shops’. However, customer groups will never get satisfied until capacities of’factories behind’ can be also guaranteed at the same time. After all, the transit periods impact the whole transportation business at the most extent. In order to solve this problem, the main mission of the freight reform is to launch express freight trains, a new transport mode, after fully learning of the ’bus’ operating mode of all railway bureaus. For marshalling stations, the launch of express freight trains also caused great impacts on themselves. It is necessary to meet the timeliness requirement of shippers, so there are always higher requirements for capacities of marshalling stations due to limitations of trains in aspects like pace time and operating speed. Especially the operation capacities of marshalling station are undergoing intense periods due to the decline in freight volume, so it is necessary to optimize the work organization of marshalling stations. Following jobs are accomplished in this thesis,(1) Firstly, the current situation of cargo reform is expounded. The new transit mode,express freight trains is also introduced here. Then the impact of freight reform on the shunting operation mode and shunting operation organization is analyzed. Finally, the general theory of shunting operation is concluded, and the current domestic and foreign research on the work of the marshalling part of the optimization is summarized.(2) Combined with the current problems existing in works of marshalling stations, this thesis showed related research on train assembly model and operating organization. After exploring the train assembly model, the optimization work of operation organization of marshalling stations is reached, where the whole work is divided two parts, the angular traffic shunting operation and the adjustment of the shunting line. Then the optimization model of utilization of shunting lines is set up by detailed description of algorithms and related theories,following by the validity verification process through the example.(3) The adaptability analysis of marshalling stations under the condition of cargo reform is completed. Finally, improvement measures of capabilities of marshalling stations are put forward. |
