In recent years,building information modelling(BIM)has been widely recognized within construction industry.Increasing number of companies decide to apply BIM into their business gradually and achieved a lot,especially for complicated mage-projects.Construction companies are the main forces among all the companies which applied BIM.However,applying BIM into uses may cause loss for companies in that BIM increased the risk uncertainties which make the company can not reach their goals and perform worse.From the perspective of construction companies,this paper analyzed risk factors in applying BIM through structural equation modelling(SEM)and proposed some suggestions according the result.According to research results,risks in applying BIM can be controlled,application of BIM can be promoted,the structure of construction industry can be updated and developed sustainably.First,this paper inducted the applying point of BIM,status quo of BIM use and the problems existing in BIM-applying construction companies.Based on the risk theory,the risks of applying BIM are defined,as well as the risk factors and features of those factors were analyzed.After this,the identification of those factors and research method were decided by comparing most of the approach to risks.Second,the risk factors of BIM application of 36 construction companies were identified by literature research methods.Then 23 risk factors were obtained by Delphi approach,and 5 kinds of risk factors were summarized by literature and expert opinions.Then the list of risk factors for construction enterprises in BIM application was listed.Under the guidance of risk theory,the structure equation model was established and the model hypothesis was put forward.Then,questionnaires designed according to the risk factors list distributed.SPSS22.0 was used to analyze the reliability and validity of the datum collected by questionnaires and testified the credibility and rationality.The structural equation modelling result was acquired by using AMOS24.0 through model fitting,model evaluation and model correction.And according to calculated comprehensive risk index,key risk factors were screened out.At last,analysis and suggestions were put forward based on five first-class risk factors given by the SEM output,respectively,responsibility distribution,related policy and supporting,BIM related standard,model management.
