architectural and humanities arts,and is always fond of.Besides its function of religious worship,it also provides people with public assembly and leisure place.In their busy modern life,people want to relax and get out of fiddling things,so with its quiet and transcendence,temple garden becomes their longing and choice.Buddhist temple garden front entrance area,the outside landscaped space of the temple,which is combined with road,front plaza of the temple,leisure space and so on,not only has the function of organizing traffic,guiding transition,landscape aesthetics and facilities service in common building outside environment,it's also the absorbing beginning of temple garden.It is inextricably related to gardens inside the temple,and together they constitute the complete landscape sequence of the Buddhist temple.This requires Buddhist temple garden front entrance area should not only facilitate the people to find where the temple is,help them pass through,relax,and assemble,but also by the transition of the space,to achieve its combination with the deep mood in gardens inside the temple,and the mood's extension outside the temple.By implying people inside wisely,using scene,mood and space narrative to lead gradually,it accumulates people's emotions and helps them clear their mind and transit when they are going into the temple.Chongqing has natural environment containing magnificent mountains and rivers,and rich cultural accumulation,so the Buddhist temple garden here varies in type.Its site selection,layout,landscaping is unique and has its own regional style.So its Buddhist temple garden front entrance area also has different characteristics,styles and designing focuses.This paper researched,measured,analyzed 30 Buddhist temple and their front entrance area in Chongqing main Urban Region,studied the surrounding environment,location selection and architectural landscape layout of every one of them,then discussed about the spatial composition,functional facilities,design status,artistic conception creation and other construction techniques of existing Buddhist temple garden front entrance area,summarized them,in complement of current lacking of Buddhist temple garden front entrance area studying academic document.The core contents of this paper include:(1)Arrange and describe the position,location selection,building layout and other status of Buddhist temple in Chongqing main Urban Region,to make them significant background information.Overview the basic function,which are guidance,organization,landscape service,culture narrative,and constituent elements including nodes,roads,plants,facilities,which are used to undertake its function,of the Buddhist temple garden front entrance area,and briefly analyze them.(2)According to research data,divide Buddhist temple garden front entrance area into urban transition type,portion of park type(include dominant Buddhist temple and attractions Buddhist temple type),and rural mountain type,and describe them one by one,list the corresponding Buddhist temple garden front entrance area.By using induction of current status,this paper explored the space factors,time factors and demand factors that influence Buddhist temple garden front entrance area and analyzed why.(3)Combining with research examples,this paper explored the existing design aspect of Ecological Park “Road of Practice”,by interpreting this case throughout,to achieve the combination of theory and practice.Based on the case study,method summary,theoretical refinement and example application of Buddhist temple garden front entrance area in Chongqing main Urban Region,this paper hopes to be able to provide reference and guidance for the design and repair of similar space.And
