In recent years,with the rapid development of Chinese economy and the improvement of people's living standard,the automobile has gradually changed from high-grade goods to ordi-nary means of transportation.According to statistics,By the end of March 2017,Chinese car ownership has been more than 200 million,of which 49 cities' car ownership has been more than one million.In addition,the number of Chinese drivers is increasing.By the end of March 2017,Chinese motor vehicle driver number has been more than 364 million,ranked first in the world.With the increase of car ownership,the road construction in our country is becoming more and more perfect,and the transportation network is becoming more and more complex,which brings challenges to the vehicle drivers.With the change of people's life style and the popularity of self driving tour,people depend more and more on the vehicle navigation system.Because of the poor networking ability,the traditional vehicle navigation system can not meet the needs of people to obtain traffic information,avoid congestion and update the naviga-tion data timely,and is gradually being eliminated by the market.People are more willing to use the Internet-enabled mobile phone navigation as a car navigation tool.However,the mobile phone screen is small,it is not suitable as a navigation tool in the vehicle no matter the display or operation.The new Android vehicle navigation system is rapidly becoming the mainstream of the vehicle navigation market because of its good networking ability,large screen size,good scalability and easy development.The topic of this paper comes from the research and development project of an Android vehicle navigation,which is involved in the author's internship.It mainly expounds the design and development process of the vehicle navigation software.Firstly,this paper introduces the background of vehicle navigation,the status and problems of vehicle navigation,expounds the significance of the subject research,and defines the main workflow of the project.Then,the author did a research on vehicle navigation products on the market for compara-tive analysis to get the market demands;By using field research and user interviews methods,the author conducted user research to get the users' needs.Finally,based on the results of competition analysis and user research,and the analysis of old navigation versions,the author getted the iterative direction and function list of the new ver-sion of vehicle navigation,and buildded the information architecture on the basis of it.The driving behavior and the automotive human machine interface were studied,and the design principle of vehicle navigation was obtained.After the design was completed,the assistant de-veloper completes the development of the new version of navigation.After the completion of the development,the project group released the product to the internal beta users for testing.According to users' feedback results,the author improved the design.The design innovates upon the existing vehicle navigation products,improves vehicle navigation user experience,injects fresh blood for the vehicle navigation market,and provides users with a safe,well experienced vehicle navigation product which is suitable for the driving environment inside the car.It has certain references for the future design and development of vehicle navigation products.
