Research On Documentation Management For International Engineering Project

With the development of our country’s economy,the domestic large enterprises in our country get more and more chance of the international project contracting,with big scale and large investment.This not only promotes our country enterprise image,but also improves international infrastructure construction.For example,our country has been promoting abroad with high speed railway project and large power plants and water conservancy projects,which not only represents the country’s image,but also contributes for global communication to the enterprises in our country.As an important part of international engineering project management,document management plays the key role in the overall life cycle of engineering projects.Document management is the foundation of international engineering project information management and project management system,which is the precondition of effective operation,and can resolve the dispute,claim,and it is the important basis to prevent from contractual risks.Therefore,the role of document management should not be ignored.From the perspective of the theory research,on the basis of theoretical research of project management theory and file management,this paper analyzes the characteristics of international engineering project management,document management functions and implementation,and further illustrates the Mecca light rail project loss,claim case of F project in South Africa,and a successful project claim case in Uganda.Through the cases analysis,it explains the functions of document management in the process of large international engineering project management performance,with summarization.Through the case analysis on international project management of claims,delays,quality management,contract disputes,it comes into conclusion and finds out the problems in the document management as follows.1.No relating effectiveness of document management in contract disputes.2.Incomplete document management content.3.Big gap from the international advanced management level.On the basis of the case analysis,it puts forward the suggestion of strengthening document management of international engineering projects as follows.1.Improve emphasizing level.2.Establish a sound and independent document management organization.3.Decide specific function of document management.4.Detailed collecting of contractual evidence for claims.5.Strengthen document management.6.Improve the extraction of information.In order to establish the standardization system of project document management and improve the function of document management in international projects.Based on the detailed analysis of the theory,the role of document management of international engineering project is discussed.With the discussion of the document management role in the international engineering project management,from the document production process and the analysis on the content of the document management in enterprises,a scientific and perfect document management can solve our country enterprise in foreign disputes caused by geographical and cultural differences and understand the problem of dislocation,which also can improve the management level.Through multi-case analysis,it is possible to provide the comparison basis for the document management research of the big international project.It is hoped that we can provide reference for Chinese enterprises in the research of document management of international engineering project.
