The Salmonella enteritidis pollution in animal farms is very serious,and chemical disinfectants are used widely,but the low efficiency and environmental pollution problems have been found of them.Slightly acidic electrolyzed water(SAEW)is a new kind of broad-spectrum bactericidal efficiency and environmental friendly disinfectant,its application for disinfection in animal farms is an new try.In order to reduce the risk of enteric pathogens transmission in animal farms,the disinfection effectiveness of SAEW for inactivating Salmonella enteritidis on the surface of plastic poultry transport cages was evaluated.The bactericidal efficacy of SAEW to S.enteritidis was studied firstly,SAEW treatment time?the absence of organic matter?available chlorine concentrations(ACCs)on the reductions of S.enteritidis were investigated;Secondly,the disinfection effectiveness of SAEW,for inactivating S.enteritidis on the surface of plastic poultry transport cages was simulated.The effects of the SAEW treatment times(10-40 s),tap water cleaning times(5-20 s)and the available chlorine concentration ACC(15-70 mg/1)on Log reductions of S.enteritidis on plastics were investigated.Thirdly,the bactericidal efficiency of SAEW and two other commercial disinfectants when used on transport cages and cages in barn was completed.The results obtained were as follows:1.Bactericidal efficacy of SAEW to S.enteritidis is affected by ACC,treatment time;When the ACC is 7 mg/L,within 3min's processing time,almost completely reduction of S.enteritidis was achieved.The efficiency of SAEW for inactivation of S.enteritidis increased with increasing ACC and treatment time.The present of organic matter(bovine serum albumin BSA)had significant effects on the bactericidal activity of SAEW(p<0.05)and with increasing the concentrations of BSA,the bactericidal efficiency decreased.2.The effects of the SAEW treatment times(10-40 s),tap water cleaning times(5-20 s)and the available chlorine concentration ACC(15-70 mg/1)on Log reductions of Salmonella enteritidis on plastics were investigated.The efficiency of SAEW for inactivation of S.enteritidis increased with increasing ACC,treatment time and cleaning time.A 3.26 log10 CFU/g reduction of S.enteritidis was achieved by SAEW treatment after tap water cleaning.The result shows the potential of SAEW in disinfection of bacterial cells on transport plastic chick cage without environmental pollution.3.The amount of microbes on transport cages surface decreased by 63.4%after exposure to SAEW(pH 6.50-6.80)at ACC 174 mg/L and 5 min treatment time,there are significant differences(p<0.05)in microbial cell count reductions between SAEW and other disinfectants when used on transport cages,but in the barn,there are no significant differences between SAEW and other disinfectants,and all the disinfectant do not make a significant inactivation effect of cages(p>0.05).
