The development of network technology and digital technology opens up a new era named media convergence. And the emergence of media convergence has changed the way of media content production and dissemination pathways. As for films, in the context of media convergence, we can watch movie not only in the theaters, but also in television, personal computer, smart mobile phones and so on. Media convergence has made the film beyond the limits of the media, spread across different media, to make films closer. However, with the continuous development of media convergence, there are many new features and new art forms has been formed in those years, such as film production, film spread and the film storytelling.Development of media convergence spawned a new film narrative mechanism-cross-media narrative. Cross-media narrative mechanism breaks the closed feature of traditional film narrative act, the full use of various forms of media platforms, collaboration and audience participation completes the film narrative. Film under the cross-media narrative mechanism, is not only widely applicable to the channel and communication platform, but also available for creating a new kind of narrative art. Firstly, film narrative structure is becoming fragmented and cross-oriented that a movie integrates multiple plot structure. Secondly, audio-visual language is obviously becoming networked, and the audio-visual internet language is showing a significant characteristic of film narrative art. Moreover, the narrative mechanism in the context of cross-media integration achieves film's "hypertext". Text of film achieves "hyperlink" with other media content by plot interaction. Finally, thanks for cross-media integration, film also creates its own unique narrative perspective. With the transition from "audience" to "user", two new major perspectives, "her" perspective and "fan's" perspective, are created in film narrative.This dissertation, in terms of "Film Narrative Art Under the Background of Media Convergence ", explores new mechanisms, characteristics and trends for Film Narrative Art in context of cross-media integration by specific text analysis. Firstly, the theories of media integration and development of film narrative are listed. Chapter 1 introduces the definition, causes and forms of media convergence, and it emphasizes the importance of the media audience in the process of media convergence advancement. Cross-media narrative is not a new term while the development of media convergence redefines cross-media narrative. Chapter 2 focuses on the double meanings of the cross-media narrative, and clarifies that the cross-media narrative is a premise of the new features generated by the narrative art. Chapter 3 is the main body of the dissertation. In the object of structure, language, plot and perspective, the new features of the narrative art of film under the background of media convergence are discussed. This dissertation combines theory and practice, uses theory to explain new phenomenon, and analyzes the new film narrative features with specific film texts.
