This is a translation project report of Parenting with a Story: Real-Life Lessons in Character for Parents and Children to Share(Chapter 15 to Chapter 17). This book provides 101 stories based on the character traits addressed for adults to help them teach important lesson to the next generation of humanity.Parenting with a Story is an informative and vocative text with the purpose of educating children by telling stories. Guided by the communicative strategy put forward by Peter Newmark, the translator focuses on completely conveying the meaning of the source text by taking a variety of methods, in an aim to make the responses of target language readers similar to that of the source language readers.Four parts are included in this report. Part one is an introduction mainly introducing background, objectives, significance and structure of the project. Part two is the research background including theoretical basis, introduction to the authors, main content and analysis of the source text; part three discusses the difficulties encountered by the translators and the strategies taken by the translator. In the conclusion, the translator summarizes the experiences and lessons learned by the translator and problems unsolved in this translation project.
