In order to adapt to the demand of the international Chinese language teaching, researches and development of country specific Chinese textbook are the new direction of Chinese textbook improvement. Some of the country specific Chinese textbooks enjoy a high share of the textbook market, when they are published. Meanwhile the general Chinese textbooks are shelved. So the Chinese textbooks with significant country-specific characteristics are the important objects of textbook research.This research focuses on the Finnish country specific Chinese textbook complied by the Finnish Chinese language teaching profession Tanja Kettunen.It is the first Finnish language Chinese elementary textbook. When the textbook was published, it caused a tremendous reaction. Now there is quite few of researches on Chinese language teaching and Chinese textbooks of Finland. And this research makes up the blank of country specific field.This research is consisted of 6 parts. The First Chapter introduces not only the researchpurpose and significance, but also the results of Chinese textbook research and the condition of Chinese teaching and application of textbooks in Finland. The Second Chapter introduces the principles and structure of the textbook; The Third Chapter analyzes the characteristics of language factors. The Forth Chapter makes a conclusion of characteristics in the main sections of the textbook. The Fifth Chapter presents the result of the survey, which is carried out in Finland. The Sixth chapter states a general evaluation of the textbook on the foundation of all the research above.Zou Ba is an elementary textbook with Finnish specific characteristics. The capacity of the textbook suits the curriculum of Chinese teaching in Finland, the content of the textbook meets the requirement of the Chinese learners in Finland, and the arrangement of the textbook satisfies the Chinese learners. On the aspect of phonology and grammar, the textbook considers the similarities and differences between Chinese and Finnish. The various kinds of exercises help learners to practice pronunciation and communication. The culture section introduces mainly the different culture between Finland and China, which can help to avoid the culture conflict. There are also inadequate aspects in the textbook, such as lack of examples in vocabulary and grammar; the expression is not as good as the native speaker in China; the exercise can be supplied and separately classified in a book.
