A Translation Project Report Of Drivers Of Financial Integration— Implications For Asia

This paper is a translation report on the Drivers of Financial Integration Implications for Asia, written jointly by Nasha Ananchotikul, Shi Piao and Edda Zoli. The paper gives profound analysis of current situation of financial integration in Asia, and discusses potential obstacles and drivers for integration from views of Economics and Finance. With knowledge in math and statistics and data from BIS and local database, its writers used classic gravity model and regression to conduct series of analysis of financial integration development of Asia and other regions. Finally, they came to the conclusion and illuminated drivers for integration and its implication as well as significance to development of Asia. Through this translation project, the author gets a certain level of knowledge on macro development of world financial integration, and then sets foot in specialized knowledge of Economics and Fiance. This project provides some valuable information for relevant research, and also lays the groundwork for the author's future specialized translation work in these fields.In this project, the author chose functional equivalence theory as his guidance. Through analyzing text type of source text, this working paper has features of academically financial text, so during the translation, the author paid great attention to representation of terminologies and expressions, treatment of long and difficult sentences, and reproduction of its original academic value. The author realizes that deep understanding and application of translation theory will make it more sensible for achieving words, sentences, passages and text equivalence. Then, information can be delivered to the biggest extent and omissions and mis-translations could be avoided.
