In the translation of financial texts, the translators’ essential job is to accurately and effectively deliver the message, which matches the philosophy of Nida’s functional equivalence. According to Nida, translation means to reproduce the closest natural equivalent of the source language message, first in terms of meaning and second in terms of style. The functional equivalence theory, focusing on the equivalence of language function, gives perspective to the translation strategies that can be used, and is of instructive significance in the translation of financial texts.Creative Industries Council Access to Finance Working Group Report, written by the British Creative Industries Council in December2012, aims to put forward suggestions for the UK government to give easier access to finance for creative small and medium-sized enterprises whose development is of great importance for the British economy. With this report as research sample, this thesis intends to analyze the translation strategies used in translating difficult points to achieve functional equivalence.
