Now, problems of juvenile delinquency, puppy love occur occasionally, which leads to the parents' rising attention to children education. But, the increasing competition for survival and working stress make parents busy and busy. That is why They can not spend more time thinking how to educate their children. This is a translation project report on Chapter 21-22 of Parenting with a Story: Real Life Characters for Parents and Children to Share written by Paul Smith. The Author of this book interviewed a lot of people all over the world and from all walks of life. By doing that, This book got a collection of 101 compelling real life stories and wrote this book, which aims at helping parents and elders teach important life lessons to the younger generation. According to 23 character traits, stories in this book are categorized into 23 classes, which yield the first 23 chapters. Chapters of 21 and 22 talk about social intelligence, forgiveness and gratitude.The report mainly includes four parts. In the first part, the author introduces some general information of the translation project, including its background, significance goals and structure. Chapter two mainly states the researched background information, contents and features of the source text, as well as the applied translation theories. Chapter three refers to description of translation difficulties and specific translation techniques applied by the translator. Translation difficulties refer to translation of passives sentences and difficult long sentences. Meanwhile, this report applied four techniques in translating English passives and three kinds of skills in translating difficult long sentences. In the last chapter, the author goes to a summary of the translation project, including experience obtained and problems unresolved.
