This thesis is a report on the simulative C-E interpreting of A Bite of China II. The reasons why the author chose this documentary lie in two aspects: one is that the series of this documentary has received enthusiastic response abroad, which arouses the foreigners' interests in China; another is that food culture is a shortcut to connect people with different cultural background, and the foreigners can better understand China through learning Chinese food culture. Besides, the practice is also conducive for his accumulation of SI experience.Based on this idea, the author interpreted the documentary commentary from the perspective of intercultural communication. In terms of the Chinese commentary of A Bite of China II, the commentary features a paratactic writing style, covers rich culture-loaded words and technical terms, and refers to the detail descriptions about the making procedures of toufu pudding or other Chinese food. In view of the commentary features, the author adopted the interpreting principles like “syntactic linearity”, “simplification” and interpreting methods, including “transliteration plus explanation” and “paraphrase”, in interpreting. Then, the thesis is concluded with major inspirations and lessons that the author summarized through the analysis of the interpreting text and recordings. The author hopes that those inspirations can provide references for Chinese food documentary production and spread in the future, and that the interpreting leaners and he can learn something from those lessons.
