Rembrandt Era's Materials,Techniques And Personal Creation Methods

This thesis is divided into four parts.The first chapter discusses the dispute about Rembrandt's birth year, figures out the relationship between Rembrandt and Hendrick van Uylenburgh, and clarifies the misunderstandings about Night Watch and Rembrandt's life in his later years. The second chapter and the third chapter are discussed from two opposite perspectives. On the one hand, the second chapter introduces the order of painting, painting materials and its origin which are adopted by Rembrandt and contemporary other painters.On the one hand, the third chapter introduce Rembrandt's uniqueness, analyzing the subjective reasons for the change of his style, whether he drew sketches and the methods he used to create space. The fourth chapter analyzes why Rembrandt painted enormous self-portraits and the iconographic meanings implied in his self-portraits.
