With the development of global economic integration, credit cards become the most important payment method internationally. However, being different from the developed countries, China has only established credit card system in recent years, where the uses of credit cards are still limited and many problems remains to be solved. Therefore, the development of credit card industry in China needs improvement by learning from the experience of the developed countries. This report is derived from translating the Credit Cardholder Agreement and Benefit Coverages Document, using the Skopos Theory as the theoretical guidance, to explore translation methods and strategies in the process of the contract and financial text,particularly with such focuses as the long and complex sentences translation and professional terminologies translation.This report includes four chapters. The first chapter mainly deals with the pre-translation preparation. The second chapter makes a brief introduction to the Skopos Theory and its application in the translation task. The third chapter is the case study of the whole text, including the translation methods for long and complex sentences, and the translation of professional terminologies. The last chapter is the reflection on the whole translation task. Through analysis of the language features of the text, as well as the case studies, the author elaborates the specific translation methods, and finally summarizes the findings and expectations in the whole translation process. All these are expected to be a reference in the later translation task.
