The source materials of this translation report are Global Study On 1325, which is United Nations' global study on the implementation of its Resolution 1325 (2000). Being a green UN document translator,1 have made my best efforts. On one hand, I studied a plenty of relevant documents to familiarize myself with the context of Global Study On 1325; on the other hand, I avail myself of various references, like paper and digital dictionaries, useful websites and so on. The source materials belong to practical writing with formal words. Then, I complied with my employer and meticulously translated the Global Study On 1325 into Chinese, trying to maintain the features of source text in the target language and attain the optimum translation. This report consists of four chapters. Chapter one is the introduction of this translation practice, which includes report background, contents and analysis of source text and employer's requirements. Chapter two describes the translation procedures, including preparation, translation, and reflection. Chapter three introduces translation methods of UN documents and analyzes typical examples concerning the translation of the acronyms, translation of long, complicated sentences for case analysis. Chapter four is the conclusion, in which I review the whole process of translation, hoping that I can share some translation experience with you.
