Under the background of today's economic globalization, the market is changing rapidly, and the competition is becoming much fiercer. The enterprise must improve the performance in order to survive and develop. At the same time, under the background of globalization, the cultural backgrounds of different countries are different, and the influence of cultural differences on the performance of international business should be considered. Culture is a kind of behavior pattern which is shown by people who share a similar national origin, and the various manifestations of cultural differences are reflected through people's language, thought and behavior. Cultural differences essentially are differences between values and standard, belief and behavior criterion of different cultural background. Therefore, the different cultural backgrounds of the employees in the international organizations directly influence their values, modes of thinking and behavior patterns, which will affect the internal communication and decision-making, thus affecting the performance of enterprises. However, no matter whether from the perspective of cultural studies depth or the maturity of performance management research, China is relatively backward compared with the western developed countries. In this case, in order to promote and improve the domestic performance management system, we need to study and borrow the relevant research results from foreign countries, and one of the main means is to translate foreign related works. At present, domestic translations for foreign works of performance management are quite few, let alone the translation studies on the impact which the cultural differences have on performance management. Therefore, the translation of the foreign performance management becomes extremely important, and this is the best way for our countries to enrich our experience. This paper is a report of English-Chinese translation practice, and translation object is the first three chapters of Culture Differences and Improving Performance. The report describes the translation plan in detail, preparing work before translation, case analysis and relevant issues after translation. In the process of translation, Nord's text analysis theory and Peter Newmark's text type theory are applied to deeply analyzethe intratextual and the extratextual factors that influence text analysis of the source text in the process of translation. Besides, influenced by the theoretical framework of skopos theory, our translation process is guided by skopos rule and loyalty principle, regarding the intended function of the target text as the starting point, and in this way the original information can be faithfully conveyed. According to the intended purpose of the target text, and the application of professional vocabulary, long sentence structures and voices in English performance management language, predominantly domestication translation strategy is determined, with combination of literal translation and free translation, addition, omission and shift translation methods and skills. At last, by studying the translation examples and translation problems encountered in the process, the paper summarizes the translation skills and methods to solve the problem. As for the study of the theory of performance management, the domestic experts basically stay on the introduction and trial application of the related theory abroad, so the theoretical breakthrough is relatively small. This translation practice report intends to learn the foreign management experience and draw on some strong points to make out the performance management model which is in line with our national culture. In this way, the domestic modern enterprise, especially the managers of international enterprise can easily cope with the low performance problem resulted from cultural differences and the people of different nations in the workplace can cooperate and communicate more effectively. In addition, the translation practice not only verify and expand the application of the relevant translation theories in the performance management translation, but also provide valuable reference resources for interpreter engaged in this field and thus expand the horizons of the study on foreign performance management translation study. Furthermore, this study also can provide learning and theoretical guidance for managers of international environment or engaged in foreign affairs personnel management. As an interpreter, the author hopes that this translation study can provide some theoretical reference value and practical guiding significance for the translation practice and translation teaching of relevant English text in the future.
