With the global economic integration, international cooperation and exchange between countries is increasingly close. Chinese enterprises now participate more actively in the international competitive bidding for major projects as the national power of our country turns to be stronger and stronger. Bidding and tendering, as a new type of trade mode, becomes known to us at the same time. As for documents related to it, all the contents shall be prepared in English, even when they are presented with some other language, an English version of the documents must also be prepared. In the occurrence of ambiguity or conflict, the English version shall prevail generally. Therefore, to ensure the quality of this kind of C-E translation project appears vital in particular. This is a translation project report for the Bidding Documents of Office Decoration. The source text is drafted in Chinese, mainly covering the instructions to bidders, the main terms of the contract and the contents of the bidding documents and the appendices, over ten thousand words in total. This case study is the translation practice based on the office decoration bidding documents. In the process of translation, the author selects Functional Equivalence Theory as the theoretical basis to help achieve the completion of the project.According to Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory, only when the style and essence of the source language is reproduced in target language from the linguistic form to cultural connotation, can the translation be regarded as a perfect work. Moreover, in the process of translating Chinese into English, some difficult problems are likely to arise, so corresponding translation strategies are also needed to solve them according to specific circumstances.Translation is a communicative act, a kind of intercultural transfer activity, which means that a translation action is not just a language transformation, but also a silent conversation among the client, the translator, and the target text. Through the case analysis with scientific translation methods, the author endeavors to arrive at some relevant conclusions and provide guidance for translators by sharing thepractical experience of the translation process to improve the quality of the translation of such documents.
