This translation task is an excerpt from Barefoot Girl,a Japanese neoteric literature work published in1940,which is Japanese famous proletarian writer Sata Ineko's first feature-length best-seller novel through the description of Momoyo's life,it depicts interior throb of the adolescent girl and the revolt against morality.Meanwhile,it recalls the scene of the economic depression and social distortion during the war,as well as the subalterns' anxiety and sadness brought by the war.In contemporary China,the introduction of this work is reckoned as useful for us compatriots to recognize and appraise objectively the anti-war forces among the Japanese folk under the circumstance of Japanese right wings rising.Insightful and ingeniously conceived,Barefoot Girl creates the character of a vibrant,passionate girl who is yearning for freedom by the depiction of Momoyo's secrets.With unique perspective and exquisite brush,the writer reveal the ambivalent feelings and rich inner world of the female.As the translator of this work,the writer's unique thought touched me deeply,and that's why I launch this translation practice.Both the translated texts and the corresponding reports are independent researches under the instruction of the present author's supervisor.Translation reports can be divided into four parts: I.A general introduction of the author of the source text,the text itself,and the excerpted parts translated by the present author.II.An analysis of the source text,which includes two perspectives: i.German functionalist translation theory applied to this translation practice and explained by examples;ii.Compensation means for translation and case analyses;An analysis of the words,expressions and sentences with typical Chinese and Japanese linguistic characteristics.III.A brief introduction of the present author's pre-translating preparations,methods for ensuring the quality of the translated version,and the general process of translating and time consuming.IV.A conclusion of translation deficiencies,which summarizes what can be learned from the translating process and what should be cared about concerning the translating experience.
