A Study On The Ego Identity And Gratitude Relationship Of Junior Middle School Students

This thesis takes the junior middle school students as the research object,adopting the “ teenager gratitude scale ” by Chengfu Yu and the Risheng Zhang—revised ego identity status of Jia Tenghou. I conducted surveys on 461 junior school students in order to aquire the gratitude situation and ego identity chracteristics of junior school students and exlplore the relationship between ego identity and thanksgiving-quality Of the Junior Middle School Students in nanchang.The results were as follows:(1) The junior school students showed an imbalanced distribution of the ego identity status with a third of the subjects in the identity diffusion status(2) On the status of each dimension of ego identity, the girls' crisis scores of the past were significantly higher than boys'; only children's current level of self-devotion was significantly higer than the non-only children's;form one students' current level of self-devotion were higher than the other grades. The junior middle school students' crisis scores of the past whose gross household income is lower than 1000 were lower than the junior middle school students' who own other kinds of family income.(3) For the total scores and each dimension of gratitude,girls' level of thanksgiving to teachers were significantly higer than boys';non-only children's level of thanksgiving to teacher were significantly higer than only children's; there exsist marked differences among three grades in the total scores and each dimension of gratitude;form three students' total scores of gratitude and scores of each gratitude dimension are all lower than other grades; also for the total scores of gratitude and the dimensions of thangksgiving to teachers,thanksgiving to friends, thangksgiving to nature,thanksgiving to parents and relatives,significant differents exsist among junior middle school students of different kinds of gross household income,and the students whose family income is below 1000 yuan gain all the lowest scores.(4) There exsist marked differences among junior middle school students of different types of ego identity status in the total scores and each dimension of gratitude. The junior middle school students of D-M statu get all the lowest scores.(5) Among the three dimensions of ego identity statu,the current self-devotion was significantly correlated with gratitude and each dimension of it. The desire of future self-devotion was significantly related to gratitude and each dimension of it.At last,strategies and suggestions for school, family and individual to develop the ego identity and graditude of junior middle school students are put forward. They are as follows:In order to achieve a better development of junior middle school students' ego identity. in school,a variety of courses and activities should be offered to provide students with a platform to try new things and explore themselves; the students should be encouraged and conducted to carry on self exploration in the mental health class; the burden of students should be reduced to give students enough time to carry out self exploration and practice.At home, parents should change their ideas and respect their children; parents should try to give their children a chance to try new things and explore themselves as much as possible. Junior middle school students themselves should have the courage to try new things and find what they really love,besides they should seek social support they need in the process actively. In order to gain a better development of junior middle school students' gradidue,in school the students should be conducted to know the kindness, students' awareness of others' initiative to give should be trained;students should be given right ways and ideas of thanksgiving gratitude when they are taught thanksgiving.At home,a sense of gratitude should be created as the family atmosphere; parents should change their ideas that "filial piety" does not mean "doing what you want them to do". Junior middle school students should actively carry out the practice of gratitude;create atmosphere of thanksgiving among classmates; own a right concept of Thanksgiving with the right patterns of Thanksgiving.
