| With the increasingly rapid development of society, linguistics is progressing constantly. Nowadays rapid development of three-syllable words attracts the attention of more and more scholars. However, the academic research for three-syllable words is still the weak link, while current researches for the color meaning of three-syllable words are lack of systematic summary and analysis. Color meaning, which is an important studying object of lexicology and semantics, and rational meaning constitute lexical meaning of the word, but compared with rational meaning, the study of color meaning still has vacancy.The linguistic resources in this thesis come from the latest version of Modern Chinese Dictionary, the Sixth Edition. The writer lists all of the three-syllable words in Modern Chinese Dictionary, and then classify and analysis them to conclude the characteristics and rules of color meaning of three-syllable words in modern Chinese language, aiming to have a comprehensive, systematic and indepth study of the color meaning of three-syllable words.This paper is composed of five chapters, which separately discuss five common color meaning of three-syllable words in modern Chinese, and then analyze the classification and rules of color meaning. |
