The Study Of The Image Color Of The Double-speech Metaphor In Modern Chinese

Vocabulary's image color meaning research is an important part of lexical meaning research. To be more precise, it is an organic component of study to lexical color meaning (affiliated meaning). By reading the data of recent years, however, the present study of vocabulary's image color meaning is far lower than the study of other color meaning (emotional color, stylistic color). In view of this, this paper specially precedes the double-syllable figurative words in modern Chinese language with a comprehensive and systematic exploration on image color meaning. We strive for further the study to words on image color meaning and promote the overall study to lexical meaning through the exploration.This paper includes four parts:The introduction sketches out the necessity and significance, current situation and trend, method and corpus of the research.Chapter One defines the image color of double-syllable figurative words in modern Chinese language. First defining the image color meaning from the perspective of the rationale. Afterwards, on this basis, clarifying the definition of image color meaning step by step. Finally, inquiring the concrete connotation of image color of double-syllable figurative words in modern Chinese language by marking the figurative tool of visual image color meaning.Chapter Two analyzes and inquires the vocabulary expression of the image color of double-syllable figurative words in modern Chinese language. Principally discussing the thesis from the view of expression type, manifestation mode, and the degree of explicitness. First, the expression type of image color is divided into four concrete types about shape image color, dynamic image color, color image color and property image color from the perspective of morpheme meaning reflecting the figurative feature of the conceptual content. Secondly, the figurative manifestation mode of the image color is thinning to three concrete modes about simile, metaphor and metonymy, on the basis of distribution of image morpheme that representing image color meaning in word construction. Finally, inquiring the degree of explicitness in the image color of double-syllable figurative words in modern Chinese language by combining three concrete manifestations modes.Chapter Three surveys and analyzes the lexical definition about the image color of double-syllable figurative words in modern Chinese language. Principally inquiring from three parts:appearing and invisible phenomenon of image morpheme and image semantic element that representing image color in language dictionary; interpretation pattern of image morpheme meaning; co-occurrence inside and outside of image morpheme meaning. On the basis of interpretation of double-syllable figurative words in modern Chinese language which are in Modern Chinese Dictionary, we divide the image morpheme meaning and the corresponding image semantic element into four types:only showing image morpheme meaning in interpretation; only showing image semantic element in interpretation; co-occurrence of image morpheme meaning and image semantic element in interpretation; co-invisibility of image morpheme meaning and image semantic element in interpretation. We preliminary generalize the interpretation pattern of image morpheme meaning to normality pattern including "like" and variation pattern including "shape". And we divide the co-occurrence inside and outside of image morpheme meaning into two types about symmetry co-occurrence and misplacing co-occurrence.
