In the context of accelerated economic globalization, the economic and cultural exchanges among countries are becoming increasing frequently, which makes the cooperation areas continuously expanding. International trade is not only about economic exchanges, but also an indispensable part of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. Thus, translation, as a bridge for cultural exchanges and communications between China and foreign countries plays a significant role in international trade. Agreement texts are deemed as an organic branch of legal contracts and the legal warranty of economic activities. As one kind of agreement texts, it is also true with service agreements. By the way of the agreement, service agreements stipulate the rights and obligations of the parties and avoid conflicts and disputes to ensure that the transactions would be conducted in a peaceful way. The globalization of economy and trade has brought unprecedented prosperity for translation industry and greatly accelerated the demand for competent translators. Thus, the translation of agreement texts, whatever E-C or C-E translation, it is necessary to insist on the high quality translation standards.The agreement text of this report is based on the Master Service Agreement(MSA), which is entered into by and between an American company and a Chinese company. During the author's translation internship, the related department instructs the author translates English original text into Chinese text, and submit to Chinese company for reference. The target text(TT) is proofread by the project manager of the translation company.During the whole process of translation, the author has deeply understanding that in order to achieve the high-quality translation of agreement texts, translators should not only possess a solid language foundation and a certain degree of theoretical knowledge, but also should grasp the relevant economics professional knowledge.This report consists of five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction of translation task. The second chapter is process description of translation task. The third chapter is the literature review of functional equivalence theory which guides the whole translation process. The fourth chapter is the case analysis which describes the application of functional equivalence theory in translation practice. Chapter 5 makes a study of the difficulties and the author's experience.
