Since 1949,the Health and Physical Education in China has changed a lot and become one of the most important parts of education.After entering the new century,new goals and requirements are once again called for by those achievement and experience obtained.Therefore,it demands both valuable experience in domestic and advanced ideas abroad for the new goals and requirements of China's Health and Physical Education.Just under such a background,the material Prep Year to Year 2 Health and Physical Education Australian Curriculum in Queensland—assessment and reporting advice and guidelines,which covers about 10 thousand words,was accordingly selected to carry out this E-C translation practice.On the basis of Katharina Reiss' Text Typology this material can be classified as informative text,and viewed from its content it is for education purposes.This material mainly provides particular contents for the teaching and assessment work of Health and Physical Education in Queensland.It does also include various types of notes and charts for interpreting and illustrating those contents and thus there are plenty of terminologies and associated expressions.For this reason,a translation team was assembled to conduct the work of consulting and filing them.At the same time,this team did also work together to help reviewing the translated text and make sure that the final version can contribute to translation equivalence.In this practice,most complex sentences of the original text were reconstructed into Chinese ones according to their linguistic features and thus strategies of sentence reconstruction were also summarized as a result.For instance,nouns in several complicated sentences of the source language were conversed into verbs which will appropriately embodies the dynamic functions of Chinese expression and the segmentation of long sentences during translation will also make the target language more brief and expressive.Finally,I do hope that all of those skills and strategies in this thesis will not merely provide achievement and experience for our translation practice,but also a valuable and practical reference for you dear hardworking translators.
