A Practice Report On Long Sentences Reconstruction In Chinese Translation Of 2017 Economic Report Of The President From The Perspective Of Text Typology Theory

From the perspective of the text typology theory,this paper selects the long sentences of 2017 Economic Report of the President as translated materials.For the three problems encountered during the process of translation including unclear logic relationship in the original text,inconsistency of sentences structures between English and Chinese and discrepancy of voices between English and Chinese.This practice report discussed the application of the text typology theory in economic texts.The three difficulties about this translation include unclear logic relationship in the original text,inconsistency of sentences structures between English and Chinese and discrepancy of voices between English and Chinese during the translation.Responding to these problems,taking nine kinds of measures separately,that is,manifestation and reconstruction of semantic adding,manifestation and reconstruction of lexical cohesion,manifestation and reconstruction of adverbial clause,integration and reconstruction both in sequential and reverse order,integration and reconstruction in vocabulary and phrases,integration and reconstruction in division by sense groups,reconstruction of conversion between active and passive sentences,reconstruction of conversion between passive sentences and sentences without subjects and reconstruction of conversion between passive and special structure sentences.Discussing and studying the availability of these translation strategies from the perspective of the text typology theory.Practice reports and case studies show that specific translation strategies,such as manifestation and reconstruction,integration and reconstruction and conversion reconstruction,have practical significance on the translation of long sentences in economic reports,and can be helpful to the quality improving of the translation.It is expected that this practice report will provide some reference value into the translation of the President's economic report.
