The Translation Practice Report On Property Services Text In The View Of Skopos Theory

With the rapid development of economic globalization and the world's population flow, Chinese economy and politics having been upgraded, the commercial and cultural communication between China and the rest countries and regions had been increased rapidly. In order to know this constantly prosperous and booming ancient country better, a growing number of foreigners come to China for trading, ensconcing or taking education, the appropriate residence is absolutely imperative. Therefore, to fix their residential areas up with better property services, texts of property services must be translated from Chinese to English. So the translation of related texts is increasingly significant. Over the last years, the requirements for the interpretation of property services texts from tier one and tier two cities fortifies rapidly. As low quality property services texts may cause misunderstanding and obscuration, thus, accurate translation of property service texts that conforms to the reading habits of foreigners' greatly affects the success of attracting foreigners. However, studies on the translation theory of property services texts are rare, which are mainly arising out of the shortage of comprehensive and efficient theoretical guidance.This practice report will be guided by the skopos theory, various problems of the translation of <Owners' Property Services Agreement of Hengyang Jinfeng Property Management CO.,LTD.> will be analyzed in this paper,which are devoted to draw people's attention to the translation of property service texts and assist the translator to pick up the appropriate translation strategies and skills to realize the communication between Chinese and English. The graduation thesis will be divided into six chapters. Firstly, the author will introduce the background of the task, and systematically comb and descript the origin, main theoretical perspectives of skopos theory as well as current studies domestic and overseas to sketch the theoretical framework of this thesis. Then this thesis will go from theoretical exploration to translation practice, and the author will cite a lot of translation examples to analyze the characteristics of property services texts and guide its translation strategies and skills at stylistic, syntactical and lexical level, and the employed methods are mainly literal translation, free translation, and etc., and will make clear the revealed communicative function and text type of property service texts to ensure the accurate of translation. Finally, this report will prove that translator's competence and professional quality shall be recommended, a qualified translator shall not only master solid skills, strong language skills and cultural connotation, but also the passion for translating and the meticulous attitude towards work.
