This thesis explores the English translations of diverse cultural information in Decoded, namely, material culture, behavior culture and spiritual culture, from the perspective of Bassnett's cultural translation theory. Through the analysis of specific examples from both linguistic and cultural aspects, this thesis finds that: the translator of Decoded puts great emphasis on the transferring of both linguistic and cultural information. Though there exists various constraints, the translator makes flexible use of various means to make compensation of different losses. On one hand, in transferring the cases in common, the translator either retains the original expressions in the source text or makes some minor changes about the source text in target readers' demands to produce creative expressions; On the other hand, in transferring cultural vacancies, the translator not merely encourages the target language readers to approach the source language culture by retaining the original cultural elements, but also considers adequately about the target readers' acceptances. Some adjustments are widely scattered in the translation as a way to disseminate Chinese culture and enrich the target language culture. Hoping to give people some tips in explaining the practical values and advantages of cultural translation theory in English-Chinese translations.
