The translation report is based on the translation of the first chapter of the book Bubbles, Booms and Busts: the Rise and Fall of Financial Assets that talks about the relationship between inflation and bubbles, written by Donald Rapp. This report analyses the translation process and the problems encountered during translation process and provides proper translation strategies to solve these problems. This book is an economics book for beginners, and it is a non-literary text, so the translator employed Nord's function plus loyalty theory. During translation, there are many difficulties and problems. The translator divided these problems into two types, translation of text and translation of culture under the guidance of Nord's theory and tried to use various translation strategies to solve these problems. The whole report was divided into four parts. The first is about the background of the project. The second part is an analysis of the source text. The third part is the problem-solving process and the last part is the conclusion of the project. |
