A Report On The Translation Of The Excerpt Of Where Love Is From The Perspective Of Nord's Function Plus Loyalty

The paper is an English-Chinese translation report based on the practice of a British novel Where Love Is and on the application of Nord's function plus loyalty.It discusses the translation process and problems encountered in fictional translation.The report consists of five chapters.Chapter one introduces the source-text author,the source text and the significance of the task.The second chapter describes the translation process,which includes reading the source text and searching relevant background before the translation,and translation steps as well as tools used to solve problems while translating and proofreading.The next chapter summarizes Nord's function plus loyalty and its related research.Chapter four analyzes the translation thoughts and methods of settling lexical,semantic and cultural difficulties from the perspective of Nord's translation principle.The last part draws a conclusion on fictional translation guided by the function plus loyalty,which can provide translators with direction to handle similar translation task in the future.
