Currently, the psychological problems of college students have become increasingly prominent, which has presents a serious challenge to the work of college mental health. When confronted with psychological problems,a considerable portion of college students did not choose to seek help from professional help organizations, which leads to the deterioration of psychological problems, even tragic results. It is considerably important and necessary to carry out researches about the professional psychological help attitude of college students. It has been pointed out that the self-stigma of mental illness has a major impact on attitude seeking professional helps of college students. It has been obvious that current researches have mainly focus on the external factors which influence the attitude seeking professional helps of college students. In the perspective of Psychoanalysis and Analytical Psychology, researchers pay attention to the internal factors. And self-esteem has a significant impact on individual behavior,as an important subject variable.Based on that, study 1 explores the moderating effect of self-esteem in the relationship between the self-stigma of mental illness and attitude seeking professional helps of college students;Secondly,in view of the complexity of high self-esteem,study 2 examines the difference of attitude seeking professional helps in college students who have defensive high self-esteem(defensive HSE)and who have genuine high self-esteem(genuine HSE).In study 1,subjects were randomly selected from colleges students in two universities in Shanxi Province, their self-stigma of mental illness,self-esteem and attitude seeking professional helps were measured with questionnaires. With the use of SPSS 17.0 and AMOS17.0,the data was processed. The study concluded that the self-esteem played a moderating effect on the relationship between the self-stigma of mental illness and attitude seeking professional helps of college students, and to the students with low self-esteem,their attitude seeking professional helps decreased when attitude seeking professional helps raised;and did not change significantly to the students with higher levels of self-esteem.study 2 measured the attitude seeking professional helps,self-esteem and Social desirability of the same subjects in study1 in the same way.The subjects with high self-esteem and high social desirability were defined as an individual defensive high self-esteem group, high self-esteem and low self-defined social desirability as an individual genuine high self-esteem group. With the use of SPSS 17.0,the data was processed and pointed out that, compared the group with defensive high self-esteem,the attitude seeking professional helps of genuine high self-esteem group was more positive, and there was a significant difference between them.Based on the above findings, the study pointed out that,in the process of mental health work, colleges and universities should take effective measures to reduce the level of students' self-stigma of mental illness, and pay attention to improving the esteem level, especially the genuine high self-esteem,by which we can bring the students who are suffering from mental illness to the professional help organizations, and promote their physical and mental development.
