A Report On Translation Of Academic Papers In Educational Technology

This thesis is a report on the English-Chinese translation of two academic papers in education and technology,with the source texts of nearly 10,000 words.The two papers are both involved in education and technology,featured with both high academic values and specialized characteristics.The two papers come from international conferences held in Singapore,and are published respectively in 2011 and 2012 by International Association of IACSIT(Computer Science and Information Technology).The author selects "Use of Technology in English Language Teaching and Learning":An Analysis and Second Language Teaching in Elementary School with a Multimedia Gloss as the translation task and hereby composes this report.The translation report consists of six parts.Chapter 1,a concise introduction of the source texts,includes task description,the structure of the report,the preparation and translation process;Chapter 2 is the background of the task in which the theory of text typology is introduced;Chapter 3 firstly covers the characteristics of English academic papers and then analyzes the features of texts in education and technology,including mainly three aspects:words,sentences and discourse analysis;In Chapter 4,the key part of this report,the author intends to present strategies and skills applied in the process from three dimensions;Chapter 5 concludes how many obstacles are found in this translation practice and how similar research should be further implemented.
