Deverbalization is a transitional process in "The Triangle Model"of the Interpretative theory of Translation which emphasizesthat an interpreter should comprehend the meaning behind the source-language so as to deliver the speaker's idea to the audience in his or her mother tongue. In the process of interpreting, many interpreters can hardly take off the shackle of the source-language and then deliver the wrong message to the audience. That could make the communication between two sides tougher. The theme of this thesis is to discuss the application and strategies of deverbalization. It's based on a case study of a lecture call "Traveling the world through wine".In this thesis,it discusses three major aspects, explaining from perspectives of words, sentence and discourse with examples of insufficiency or sufficiency in deverbalization. Then it probes into deverbalization strategies in doing interpreting, and summarizes long-term solutions in terms of deverbalization. The aim of this thesis is to help interpretation learners to realize deverbalization in doing interpreting and daily training.
