In this thesis, the author analyses the importance and strategies of the deverbalization of the Interpretive Theory in consecutive interpretation from two perspectives — — memorizing and expressing, combining the author’s mock consecutive interpretation of two speeches, namely,President Xi jinping’s speech in the British Parliament and President Xi Jinping and the Queen of Britain’ s speeches in the Bukingham Palace during the state visit of President Xi in October,2015.This thesis mainly consists of three parts——Literature Review, Theory Foundation and Case Analysis. With the case analysis of the author’s mock consecutive interpretation, the study strives to verify the importance and guidance of deverbalization of the Interpretive Theory by exemplification and summarizes four strategies, namely, the logic reconstructing, semantic explanation, simplification and supplementation so as to enlighten the later interpreters to interpret flexibly, smoothly and quickly under the guidance of deverbalization.
