Research On The Compulsory Military Service In Longquan County During The Period Of The Anti-Japanese War

National government implemented the compulsory military service in 1936 and adjusted it when the Anti-Japanese war broke up.Longquan county is the rear area in Zhejiang provice during the period of Anti-Japanese war.Longquan county government recruited able-bodied men into the army according to rules and recruited almost ten thousand soldiers,which made contributions to the Anti-Japanese war.As the deficient compulsory military service system,low quality service staff and frequent recruitment,Longquan county could not totally recruit soldiers according to the rules.The government took measures to prevent and control the illegal activities,but could not realize recruitment fairness.The compulsory military service recruited a large number of soldiers and enhanced people's idea of nation during the period of the Anti-Japanese war.Otherwise,it affected the grass-roots social economy and life,especially population decline and labor shortage.
