As a neighbor of China,Vietnam is very close to Guangxi Province.From the first Vietnamese students studied in Guangxi University for Nationalities in1993,an increasing number of Vietnamese student come here to learn Chinese because its geographical advantages and schooling capablity.And they has become the balanced landing and main part of oversea students in Guangxi University for Nationalities gradually.Chinese vocabulary teaching is the indispensable part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,however,culture additional meaning is the weakest link of Chinese vocabulary teaching.Since the culture additional meaning of Chinese vocabulary carries an unique national cultural information,so if the learners have some deficiencies in understanding culture additional meaning,it is easy to make some obstacles of inter-cultural communication,and it will also affect the confidence and enthusiasm of students' study.Besides,along with deepening study,it is very necessary to teach culture additional meaning.Not only teachers need to get over this teaching problem,but also students should understand this linguistry at the same time.The author aims at the survey of Vietnamese students in intermediate stage in Guangxi University for Nationalities,researching for their understanding of culture additional meaning of Chinese nominal words as well as analysing the problem types and factors.What's more,this paper is also on both sides of teachers and students to conclude a specific improvement so that it can do a favor for practical teaching activities.There are four parts in this paper,as follows :(1)describe the culture additional meaning of Chinese words and expressions,and discuss its relationship with inter-cultural communication resulting to teaching Chinese words as a foreign language;(2)introduce the basic facts of respondents,with the method of questionnaire survey and statistic analysis of data,investgate and analyse therespondents;(3)then according to the survey result,make a conclusion of error types and its existing problems,besides,analyze the results of existing problems on both students and teachers sides;(4)according to the research,come up with some specific improvement of it.
