Morning Call is an online talk show in China, which is hosted by Gao Xiaosong.The motto of the show is "Thinking of the problem beyond only one point and feeling the world in a diverse way".Interpretation includes linguistic elements and non-linguistic elements. The interpreter thinks that the relevance theory can work efficiently with interpretation's nature,that is timely communication based on dynamic context. This report is under the perspective of relevance theory and the interpreter conducts a consecutive interpreting on the 10th and 11th episode of Morning Call. After finishing the interpretation task, the interpreter needs to manage and to collect the materials including good results and shortcomings to write this report. This report's purpose is to improve the quality of interpreting and also improve the interpreter's interpretation competence. Conducting an interpreting practice under the perspective of relevance theory and also working with interpretation strategies can ensure a successful and efficient process.This report consists of three parts: the introduction, the main body and the conclusion. Its main contents are as follows:The first part is the introduction. The interpreter introduces the relevant information of the interpretation and the significance of interpreting this online talk show. It also examines the interpreter's interpretation ability. The interpreter wants to find out her shortcomings and defects in order to correct them. This is helpful to be a qualified interpreter. Besides, the interpreter also wants to provide some references and further discussions for other interpreters.The second part is the main body, which consists of three chapters.Chapter One mainly describes the nature of the interpretation task including the background, the characteristics and the goals of the task.Chapter Two describes the process of interpreting including preparations,interpreting process and post-interpretation work.Chapter Three is the analysis of specific cases. It includes two parts. The first aspect is from the strategies used in interpretation, the interpreter uses syntactic linearity,amplification, omission and adjustment in this interpreting practice. The second aspect is the analysis of failed cases based on information omitting and misinterpreting.The last part is the conclusion,which includes the interpreter's insufficiency in this interpretation practice and some suggestions for future studies.
