Comment On The New Version Of ZhonghuaGreatDictionary

The new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,published in September 2014 in the commercial press international limited,carrys forward the fine traditions of the old version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,learns compilation ideas and methods of modern excellent dictionaries,strictly complies with relevant standards of Chinese characters.It has made a lot of effort on the number of characters,the definition and the phonetic notation,with many innovations.This dictionary is a new type of dictionary with both standardization and originality.It is not only of practical value,but also of great academic research value.In this paper,with reference to the old version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,Zhonghua Zihai,Grand Chinese Dictionary,Xinhua Dictionary,Xinhua Great Dictionary,and many other dictionaries,we conduct a study on the innovation in this dictionary,and then summarize the excellent compilation experience of it,in order to provide a useful reference to the compilation of normative dictionary.The paper is divided into the following parts:The first part,the introduction,describes the research significance from three aspects of lexicography,Chinese characters study and linguistics,multi-angled combs literature review of normative dictionary,and based on that puts forward research object as well as research methods.The second part,the prefix of the new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,on the basic of comparison with old version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,Zhonghua Zihai and Grand Chinese Dictionary,with reference to relevant standard of Chinese characters,analyzes the collection situations and features of the prefix in the new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,and analyzes the number and expression form of traditional and simplified character,variant hanzi,as well as the processing of variant relation,on the basic of comparison with Grand Chinese Dictionary and Xinhua Dictionary,according to relevant standard of Chinese characters.The third part,the definition of the new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,with reference to related situation of the senses item setting and definition in Grand Chinese Dictionary,Xinhua Dictionary,Modern Chinese dictionary,Chinese Dictionary and many other dictionaries,analyzes the senses item setting characteristic from item added and item subtracted,analyzes definition revision characteristic from specific definition and definition word in the new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,and according to the distinction setting between synonyms in Xinhua Great Dictionary,analyzes the distinction design between synonyms including the principles of inclusion and interpretation in the new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary.The forth part,the phonetic notation of the new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,with reference to related situation of the sound item setting and phonetic notation in Grand Chinese Dictionary,Xinhua Dictionary and many other dictionaries,analyzes sound item setting characteristic from item added and item subtracted,analyzes the revisied phonetic notation characteristic from prefix and auxiliary phonetic notation in the new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,and comparing the polyphone processing in Grand Chinese Dictionary,Xinhua Dictionary,analyzes the polyphone processing characteristic from characters column form and sound item order in the new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary.The fifth part,the discussion part of the new version of Zhonghua Great Dictionary,based on systematicness and practicability of the dictionary compilation,puts forward some suggestion about the prefix,definition and phonetic notation in this dictionary.The sixth part,the epilogue,summarizes the whole thesis and puts forward the viewpoints.
