Nowadays,as the upcoming energy crisis is profoundly troubling the world, the efficiency improvement and reasonable planning of energy appear to be a critical issue. The background, classification and impact of wind power development in the U.S have witnessed its gradual change in energy pattern through reasonable planning and development. However,as a latecomer in energy exploration and utilization,China needs to draw on advanced experience from developed countries. This report selects Wind Vision: A New Era for Wind Power in the United States released by U.S.Department of Energy in March,2015 to study the English-Chinese energy translation from the perspective of translational writing theory. And this report also proposes translation strategies and conducts case study on lexical, syntactic and textual level.Furthermore, the translator chooses the eighth part of the second chapter as the source text. The contents of this part include: wind siting, permitting and deployment, public acceptance and environment concerns, regulatory environment as well as conclusions. In response to the climate action plan proposed by U.S.Department of Energy, this source text sets strategic goals in energy science, management and protection from 2020 to 2050 in the United States.Nowadays, there isn't any Chinese translation version published officially. This report achieves the translation version of more than 10 thousand characters from English to Chinese in energy translation through pre-translation preparation, text analysis and the selection of translation theory. This translation practice has important value and significance for reference in the study of American wind power development strategies and our long-term energy planning.
