| With the development of the world economy,to upgrade energy structure becomes an urgent task.The most striking feature is the deep development of new energies,among which the wind power is the most promising.The source text,Wind Power,is an American book on new energy development with a formal style.The source text is an information-based text,which has strict structure,clear organization,standardized writing,objective description and accurate content.The translation practice on new energy texts will avoid the mistranslation and promote high quality translation works through the translation of Wind Power.Therefore,from practical perspective,this translation report also has a certain significance in new energy text translation practice.From the perspective of Skopos theory,this report mainly studies the translation of Wind Power from lexical,syntactic and textual levels.In order to make the translation conform to the characteristics of the source text,this report analyzes the translation of Wind Power from the three rules of Skopos theory.Mixing an explicit translation purpose with the content of the target text,the translator selects some translation methods and strategies such as literal translation,free translation,amplification,omission,repetition,and inverse translation.It is found that Skopos theory makes the translation of Wind Power more objective,precise,and formal,which enables the target readers to have a clear understanding of the source text.Based on the translation practice of Wind Power,the translator concludes that in order to complete good translation,a translator should first think about the translation purpose,fully understand the professional knowledge background of the source text,and then adopt proper translation theory and various translation methods.This report provides some advice on high-quality translation of new energy text and useful perspectives on translation. |
