Study On Sino-Korea Tobacco Trade In Northeast Of China In The Early Qing Dynasty(1628-1644)

The domestic studying on the history of tobacco mainly focus on two issues.One is from the middle of Ming Dynasty to the end of the Ming Dynasty,which mostly studies on introduction and spread of tobacco.Another is from 1860 to present,the emphasis is about the rise and fall of modern tobacco industry.However,tobacco that is a special introduced crop in late Ming dynasty has unique value and function of history and has promoted trades between China and Korea in the early Qing Dynasty.On the foundation of historical data from China and Korea,this paper is based on previous studies,divided into three parts to study the Sino-Korea tobacco trade.In the first part,mainly research the beginning of the tobacco trade in Northeast China.On this basis,this part will further study the beginning of the Sino-Korea tobacco trade,and analyze the causes why it happened.In the second part,the paper mainly expounds the development process and the characteristics of tobacco trade in different stages.This part divides the development of tobacco trade between China and Korea into three stages with the dividing line of two bans on smoking in the early Qing Dynasty.And summed up its characteristics: Firstly,the purpose of tobacco trade is to develop from a purely economic purpose to the “Tobacco Diplomacy”.Secondly,the way of tobacco trade is mainly based on smugglers,and partially based on trade missions.In the third part,the paper mainly summarizes the roles of Sino-Korea tobacco trade,including to maintain the communication between Korea and the Later Chin Dynasty,to promote trade between Russia,Korea,Mongolia and China in Northeast Asia,and the issue of ransoming captives.In the conclusion part,the first three chapters are summarized,and the negative effects of tobacco on farming society are analyzed.Through the study of Sino-Korean tobacco trade in Northeast China in the early Qing dynasty,it is hoped to get a glimpse that the development and characteristics of the association between China and Korea.
