As an important method of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language(TCSL),Visual teaching methods are widely used in vocabulary teaching.However,from the existing research materials,Visual teaching methods are not so abundant as other teaching methods in the systematic study of language teaching,especially of TCSL.In consideration of the low rate of usage of Visual teaching methods in TCSL,this thesis,based on vocabulary teaching in elementary courses,analyzes and studies the application of Visual teaching methods.Visual teaching methods can not only help students understand and memory knowledge better through sense organs,but also improve students' interest in learning to some extent,which can be of significant help in building a communicative classroom and enriching teaching content.This theses takes a reference from Visual teaching methods and other relevant theories,and combines an observation about the students in junior class of School of International Education Chongqing University.Meanwhile some other approaches like questionnaire are also employed.Then Some concerns about teaching is voiced.At the end of this thesis,the author discussed how to apply Visual teaching methods in practical vocabulary teaching,which aim at help teachers in choosing a better method in an efficient way,and offering teachers valuable reference of vocabulary teaching in elementary comprehensive courses of TCSL,and most of all,promoting the study of Teaching of Chinese as a Second Language.
