A Report On The Translation Of The Legal Environment Of Business (Chapter 1)

This is a translation report on the book,The Legal Environment of Business,which is written by Sean P.Melvin and Michael A.Katz.This book introduces the commercial laws of the United States as well as some basic legal concepts and definitions which has further guidance in China's legal environment of business and commercial laws.Based on Katharina Reiss' s text typology theory,domesticating translation strategy was adopted by the whole translation.And in order to convey both content and style of the original text to target readers,translation skills such as division,conversion were used by the translator.The main part of this paper was divided into five chapters.Chapter one presents a brief introduction to this translation project,the background and significance of this translation project are included.Chapter two is a brief introduction to the source text.Chapter three presents the application of translation theories.Text type theory will be discussed in this report.Chapter four discusses the translation difficulties and methods.During translation of the first chapter of this book,many difficulties have to be dealt with.Chapter five,which is also the last part,draws the conclusion,and presents the problems to be solved as well.
