The source text of this translation project report is Part One: 2 of Fictional Authors,Imaginary Audiences: Modern Chinese Literature in the Twentieth Century.In the source test,the basic information about Chinese modern literature as well as the role that critics and scholars in Western countries have played in the formation of the modern Chinese literary canon are introduced.According to Peter Newmark's classification of text types,the source text falls into the argumentative text.Therefore,skopos theory is the guiding theory of this project.In order to produce a qualified translation,the translation strategy of domestication and the translation method liberal translation are adopted in this translation project.
