This is a translation project report on Part?of Inventology: How We Dream Up Things That Change the World,written by Pagan Kennedy.The author seeks to elaborate innovation spirit and education tinkering in this part of the book through the anecdotes of inventors.This is an informative text with high enlightenment.In this book,the author addresses a new term of Inventology which can arouse the interests of both ordinary readers and researchers in related areas.The translation project can not only help children to think of their own creative abilities and to take advantage of all conditions in real life to learn about innovation and creation,but also call on schools to cultivate students' creative spirit and provide R&D conditions for them.The translation report consists of five chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which covers the project background,significance and the structure of the report.In the second chapter,the background of the author,main contents and language features of the source text are included.The third chapter is about the translation preparation and skopos theory,and this report focuses on the problems encountered and translation skills adopted in translating some specific sentences.The final chapter summarizes the experiences and lessons learned by the translator and problems unsolved in this translation project.
