Homosexuality is a unique cultural phenomenon, which generally exists in different cultures of human history.Especially in modern society, with the development of globalization, more and more people notice the homosexuality phenomenon.Being the minority group, homosexuality's living state is affect by the attitude of people.Based on previous research of attitude on homosexuality, this paper will not only explore the explicit and implicit attitudes towards homosexuality of college students who will be the major force of the society in the future, but also add the culture priming experiment to study the attitude on homosexuality under different cultural background of college student who has been affected by oriental and occidental cultures. This research discusses from two parts:The first part aims to explore the explicit attitude of college students towards homosexuality.Study the factors, which affect college students' explicit attitude, through questionnaire. The influence of gender, home place, major, etc.is investigated. The results are as follows: college students hold a positive attitude to homosexuality.Sub-scales show cognitive scale is highest, and sentimental scale is lowest. There are significant differences in gender, major, home place, and family structure. There are no significant differences in whether get in touch with homosexuality and grade. The second part aims to explore whether culture priming has influence on college students' attitude towards homosexuality. This part has two sections investigated by experiments. The first section is culture priming, which use both pictures and literal materials to activate the oriental and occidental cultural background. The second section is Single Category Implicit Association Test(SC-IAT),discussing the implicit attitude to homosexuality that can be automatically activated and cannot be detected by cognition. In the experiment, there are two experimental groups and one control group in the testers. The results are as follows: there are significant differences in attitude towards homosexuality between oriental culture priming and occidental culture priming. When the college students were affected by occidental culture priming, they would have a more positive attitude than those who were exerted oriental culture priming. And comparing with control group, students from occidental culture priming group are more positive, while students from oriental culture priming group are more negative. Meanwhile, the control group, which was not affected by culture priming, shows that the implicit attitude to homosexuality of college students is negative. This result is different from the explicit attitude. Also it shows that college students with different gender have significant difference in the implicit attitude towards gay and lesbian, and the same gender's is more positive.
