With development of society and process of era, views of people are changingconstantly. In recent years, because of the close relationship with AIDS, people stillconcern about homosexuality used to be left out and discriminated. As a whole,attitudes to homosexuality are more and more tolerant, but mental problems, criminalproblems and AIDS threat problems about homosexuality still make people shudderfor this group and homosexuality is a topic full of potential taboo. Medical collegestudents not only have traits that college students in new era can treat and accept newthings in social development tolerantly, but also special educational goals, knowledgebackgrounds and professional choices of medical colleges require them to treatdifferent groups in society in fair and correct attitude, including homosexuality.Therefore, it is necessary to understand true attitude to homosexuality of medicalcollege students at present.This research mainly includes three parts: study one, explicit attitude tohomosexuality of medical college students. First, revise “scale of attitude tohomosexuality in college students”. Aiming at disunity of existing questionnaire orscale about attitude to homosexuality in college students, revise “scale of attitude tohomosexuality in college students” in Taiwan. According to attitude theory, formulatethe titles and statements of scale inconsistent with those in mainland and addadequate quantities of subjects. Make a preliminary survey with567college students,and after item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis,reliability and validity analysis, use SPSS13.0and AMOS7.0to make data processing.Make sure “scale of attitude to homosexuality in college students” and this scale isdivided into cognitive agreement, sentimental reaction and behavioral performance,14topics. Then1190college students in traditional Chinese medicine and westernmedicine were selected to be surveyed formally and use SPSS13.0to makeprocessing and analysis. The results show that:1. Medical college students hold a central and positive attitude to homosexuality,most of them hold a central attitude. Sub-scales show score of cognitive agreement is highest, and score of sentimental reaction is lowest.2. There are significant differences in explicit attitude to homosexuality of medicalcollege students in sex, major, grade, religious belief, home place, whether the onlychild or not, whether get in touch with homosexuality or not and family structure.There are no significant differences in race, time when get in touch withhomosexuality first time and whether have homosexual inclination or not.3. There are no significant differences in explicit attitude to homosexuality betweentraditional Chinese medicine and western medicine.Study two, implicit attitude to homosexuality of medical college students. First,according to Implicit Association Test(IAT), make sure experimental materials oftarget concepts by internet search, major students and Chinese teachers in middleschool and make sure attribute words by bottom-up and top-down ways. Then designIAT experimental procedure by E-prime. Finally,393college students chosen fromstudy one are tested and by filtering use Excel2003and SPSS13.0to make processingand analysis. The results show that:1. Implicit attitude to homosexuality of medical college students is negative.2. There are no significant differences in implicit attitude to homosexuality ofmedical college students in sex, race, religious belief, whether the only child or not,whether get in touch with homosexuality or not, home place, major and grade.Study three, comparison between explicit attitude and implicit attitude tohomosexuality of medical college students. Compare results in study one and studytwo. Results show that implicit attitude is highly correlated with sentimental reactionsignificantly with high consistence while implicit attitude is middlely correlated withexplicit attitude, cognitive agreement and behavioral performance significantly withlow consistence. Meanwhile most of those who hold central and accept attitudes inexplicit test hold an attitude of exclusion in implicit test and that indicates most holdan attitude of exclusion while only a tiny minority hold an attitude of accept.Therefore, the research results show true attitude to homosexuality of medicalcollege students is negative.
