A Reflective Practice Report On The Simulated Chinese-English Simultaneous Interpreting Of 2016 China Green Companies Summit

Since the reform and opening-up over 30 years ago,China has achieved remarkable success in economic development.As the world's second largest economy,China is sharing an increasingly closer relationship with other countries.While being the representatives in China's economic field,Chinese entrepreneurs from various trades also endeavor to make brand-new contributions to China's economic development.It is worthwhile to spread their profound insight to every corner of the world.In the process of China's peaceful rise,we should and must make the voices in China become available for the rest of the world.The author selected the �2016 China Green Companies Summit� as the target event for this simulated Chinese-English simultaneous interpreting.Established by China Entrepreneur Club in 2008 and with private enterprise entrepreneurs being the major participants,the China Green Companies Summit has become the most influential business forum in the field of China's sustainable economic development.In 2016,the China Green Companies Summit was held in Jinan City,Shandong Province,during which the highlight is a special speech session called �Ten Years of the China Entrepreneur Club--Visionaries of the Future� and the guest speakers include Liu Chuanzhi,Ma Yun,Yu Minhong and a few other business leaders.This thesis is a reflective practice report,which is written in the hope of improving the interpreting level through reflecting on the mistakes and summarizing the experience.The main body of this thesis consists of four parts.The first two chapters are task description and interpreting process.The last two chapters are problem analysis and coping strategies.After carefully comparing the transcribed English text with the original Chinese text,the author divided the problems occurred in the practice into four categories,namely,information loss,misinterpretation,improper pauses and slips of the tongue.Through referring to relevant documents,the author summarized five coping strategies,including improving effort coordination,syntactic linearity,reformulation,anticipation and memorizing different number expressions.With the help of this simulated Chinese-English simultaneousinterpreting,the author further examined his study and training fruits during the postgraduate phase.What's more,the author hopes that this thesis can play a reference role in future simultaneous interpreting of the same kind.
