This article discusses about videos on Chinese studies uploaded by Indonesian learners on YouTube.We analyze the videos uploaded by Indonesian learners,based on the Indonesian learners' gender,their proficiency level,the learning method and the viewers' ratings of the videos.As such,it reveals the characteristics and problems of Indonesian learners' online video.Chinese learning videos are also increasing with the widespread of Internet.In order to understand the problems associated with these Chinese learning videos,we have collected several representative Indonesian learner's Chinese videos on YouTube and analyzed the learners' gender,level,learning methods and video content,and viewers' ratings.The analysis of Indonesian learners' online videos shows that:(1)Indonesian learners have wide variety of online video content,such as comedy video,dialogue video,sharing Chinese culture video,host video,blessing and other videos.(2)The level of Indonesian learners in online video ranges from beginner to the advanced level.(3)Majority of Indonesian learners in online video are females,while female and male learners have different characteristics.(4)There are two main types of online Chinese learning videos by Indonesia learners: self-learning and teaching others,these two learning methods also have their own advantages and disadvantages.(5)There are two types of ratings: Viewers' ratings and Indonesian learners' ratings.The ratings include suggestions,thanks,appreciation and envy.Indonesian learners love to upload their own Chinese videos to YouTube.The main problems of Indonesian learners' online videos are: pronunciation error,Chinese character error,grammatical bias,vocabulary bias and knowledge misunderstanding.Pronunciation is mainly ü read wrongly,expel the sound of confusion and the word wrong words;Chinese characters are mainly wrong strokes and wrong words appear frequently;grammar is mainly improper use of attributive,negative words used improperly,The use of adverbs and the use of quantifiers are not accurate;knowledge misunderstanding is due to the result of ordinary learners self-study,so many video appears just misunderstanding.Lastly,according to these studies,we have proposed some suggestions to Indonesian Chinese learners,which hopefully can benefit to their Chinese language development,and encourage them to upload better and more videos.
