Grieg is a folk musician in the romantic period in Norway,he write only four large piano works which have complex form and huge structure.It not only need grasp the whole piece but also take attention to the detail when performers playing these works,and they need to have the comprehensive ability of completely control them.This article is divided into three chapters: the first chapter presents the four large piano works of Grieg.The second chapter discuss the aspects conclude the music characteristics,the methods of expression and the performance skills of the "Ballade in g minor”.The third chapter interpret the two point cover the multiple small motivation idea and the inherent logic for the performance of Grieg's large piano works.
